Use MIA as an app

mia.medicalintel.org installs like an app. Save it to the Dock on a Mac, or as an icon on a phone. It opens the desk or sign-in, not this brochure.

Mac — Dock (Safari)

  1. Open mia.medicalintel.org in Safari.
  2. If an old icon is already in the Dock, drag it up off the Dock until it disappears. Mac keeps that old picture and will not replace it.
  3. In the menu bar, choose File → Add to Dock.
  4. The icon opens as its own window.

Mac — Dock (Chrome)

  1. If an old icon is already installed, remove it first: Chrome menu → More tools → Uninstall MIA, or drag the Dock icon off.
  2. Open mia.medicalintel.org in Chrome.
  3. Click the install icon in the address bar. If it is not there: Chrome menu → Cast, save, and share → Install MIA.
  4. Confirm. The Dock icon opens the desk in its own window.

iPhone or iPad

  1. If an old icon is already on the Home Screen, delete it first. The phone will not swap the picture.
  2. Open mia.medicalintel.org in Safari.
  3. Tap Share (the square with the arrow).
  4. Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  5. The icon opens full screen.

Windows

  1. Open mia.medicalintel.org in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Chrome: menu → Cast, save, and share → Install MIA. Edge: menu → Apps → Install MIA.
  3. Pin it to the taskbar when asked. It opens as its own window.

Android

  1. Open mia.medicalintel.org in Chrome.
  2. Tap the menu (three dots).
  3. Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen, then confirm.
  4. The icon is on the home screen and opens as its own app.
